Hey Kim,,,Great session last week
00:07 to: Peggy George
We're ready to go!!! Can't wait to hear from Colleen!!
00:19 to: Kim T. AZ
Good morning from AZ...
00:34 to: Maureen (bcdtech)
Hi Colleen... sorry I nuking some soup!
00:41 to: Peggy George
Hi Kim T!!! Great to see you! You are such a faithful participant!
00:54 to: Peggy George
http://live.classroom20.com
01:05 to: Kim T. AZ
Hi Other Kim :)
01:28 to: Kim T. AZ
Faithfull...smart, I know where to get good info!
01:28 to: Peggy George
even though this isn't a "how to" session you will definitely be learning how to use Colleen's Math Playground/Math Apprentice sites!
01:37 to: Peggy George
Hooray for Tammy Moore!!
02:19 to: Peggy George
This hour will fly by and with Tim Fahlberg joining in the conversation you're in for a real treat!
03:00 to: Peggy George
feel free to type questions/comments in the chat and we'll be sure to pass them on to Colleen!
03:18 to: Peggy George
we're going to have a big blob in AZ today :-)
03:25 to: Kim Flack
:D
03:32 to: Peggy George
love seeing those red dots!!!
03:38 to: ihor Charischak
white plains, ny
03:38 to: david weksler
Hi, Virginia, come stai?
03:40 to: Peggy George
great to have all of you with us today!!!
03:41 to: Kim Flack
Hawaii - do you have Tsunami warning sirens going off?
03:50 to: Maureen (bcdtech)
@Colleen How much snow did you guys get this week? I've gotten almost 3 feet over the last few days.
03:52 to: debbie y
@kim flack...yup
04:02 to: Peggy George
we'll be using both the green check/red x and the ABCDE today
04:03 to: Kim Flack
be safe -- worried about all you in the Pacific!!
04:27 to: Colleen King
@bcdtech Hardly any - it's different weather out my way.
04:27 to: debbie y
@kim thanks! state seems pretty organized so far
04:33 to: Maureen (bcdtech)
I don't use it myself, but have given it to the math teachers and they are using it...
04:34 to: Peggy George
to vote you click on the marks below the participant column--not on the slide :-)
04:45 to: McTeach
I actually don't even teach math. Hoping to learn something to pass on to our math teachers and my students.
04:59 to: Colleen King
It's a new site.
05:00 to: Peggy George
I've used both sites to share with teachers but haven't used them with students
05:06 to: Kim
@McTeach - me, too
05:06 to: Tim Fahlberg
me too
05:31 to: Peggy George
if I had students I would definitely have a green check!!!
05:32 to: McTeach
Good to know I'm not alone here!
06:19 to: Peggy George
just thinking--if you use default layout you'll see more of the application sharing
06:21 to: roxanne clement
missed the setting, which one?
06:32 to: Kim Caise
wide layout helps see more of the chat
06:40 to: Peggy George
if you use the wide layout you'll see more of the chat and a smaller screen for the slides
06:41 to: McTeach
Woo-hoo! Go Boston!!
06:43 to: Tracy
view > layout > wide layout
07:18 to: Lorna Costantini
wrong advice everyone
07:24 to: Lorna Costantini
use default layout :)
07:41 to: Maureen (bcdtech)
Sorry, my little send button flipped to moderators. But was responding to @McTeach... I teach in a computer lab and part of my job is pd for teachers- so I send all the links along to others
07:47 to: Peggy George
when she starts sharing her desktop you'll see more of it with the default layout
08:03 to: Peggy George
:-)
08:41 to: Peggy George
new choices-ABCDE :-)
09:28 to: Catherine Laguna
I have a Smart Airliner Slate, not a white board.
09:34 to: Peggy George
it's so helpful to get this kind of feedback from all of you!
09:34 to: Kim T. AZ
Since I don't work directly in the classroom not sure how to handle these type of questions...
09:38 to: Brian Bailey
i hate my whiteboard
10:00 to: glovely
how does a non-classroom person respond?
10:00 to: Peggy George
use the laser pointer to put a mark on the continuum
10:04 to: Kim Caise
please use your laser pointer
10:06 to: Kim T. AZ
whiteboard....not interactive board, correct?
10:10 to: Maureen (bcdtech)
One of our math teachers is sold on Accelerated Math to differentiate instruction.
10:13 to: Tim Fahlberg
cool interactive question!
10:26 to: Kim
good polls, but I'm not responding b/c as I don't teach math, it could skew results
10:29 to: Peggy George
very interesting!!! love it!!
10:30 to: Tracy
I'm a non-classroom teacher and i'm responding based on the average in our school
10:31 to: Delbusch
I, too am having a little trouble with the questions since I teach computer not math, but I include math in my lessons.
10:37 to: Kim Caise
thanks Tim! Kim Flack taught us this technique
10:43 to: Kim Flack
;)
11:02 to: pat pomeroy
I'm waiting for my whiteboard at this time
11:11 to: ihor Charischak
third choice?
11:28 to: ihor Charischak
both!!!!!!!
11:42 to: Peggy George
hopefully it is the kids using the interactive white board for these math activities :-)
11:51 to: Maureen (bcdtech)
Does it matter what age group? It is important to have some computational skills and they seem to be taught at lower levels
11:52 to: Tim Fahlberg
it would be interesting to ask this question of teachers at differnt levels and see what differences there are
11:54 to: Peggy George
very true! both are important!
11:56 to: ihor Charischak
it shouldnt be a preference!
12:09 to: ihor Charischak
Both are equally important
12:09 to: Kim T. AZ
please know some of us are participating in this webinar so we can share the wealth with the teachers we work with
12:14 to: judyb64
Different levels might have different answers
12:23 to: Tracy
I would think computational skills would be embedded in problem sovling activities
12:24 to: Peggy George
excellent point Kim T!!
12:28 to: Tracy
oops solving
12:36 to: Kathy S
Yes, I am going to share what I learn here.
12:36 to: Maureen (bcdtech)
Good point Tracy
12:38 to: Angela
i agree with tracy
13:19 to: Peggy George
I love that we have so many more interactive online resources now and don't have to rely on purchased software!!
13:35 to: Kim Caise
great motivators
13:43 to: Kathy S
I agree, Peggy!
14:16 to: Peggy George
we'll be sharing all of her links during the session today
14:18 to: Tracy
How do we get other classroom teachers to see this and get beyond the complaint of 'don't have time'
14:19 to: Maureen (bcdtech)
I want to teach more "math" watched google sketchup with Bonnie Roskes(sp?) the other day. I could use more when I teach Alice too. It would be good if I was better at math.(don't listen to that part
14:19 to: Maureen (bcdtech)
Colleen)
14:20 to: Bruce Neal
I like http://illuminations.nctm.org/
14:34 to: Peggy George
that's in our gl.am links today Bruce :-)
14:54 to: Peggy George
http://gl.am/SJg3G (sneak preview but look later)
15:08 to: Tim Fahlberg
cool
15:10 to: Kim Flack
good point Colleen -- manipulatives in math can be online or tangible
15:12 to: Tracy
The tendency is for teachers to put the students on a site without any direction and the expectation is the 'game' will teach the student
15:13 to: Bruce Neal
Thanks for the gl.am
15:38 to: Brian Bailey
thanks
15:38 to: Maureen (bcdtech)
One of our math teachers uses online manipulatives a lot, rather than the hands on. I think it is also an age group dif. When I taught K I used hands on... he teaches middle school
15:41 to: Kim T. AZ
Tracy - such a true statement!
15:55 to: Peggy George
http://www.mathplayground.com/
15:59 to: Maureen (bcdtech)

16:28 to: Peggy George
this is when you may want to change to default layout to see more of her tour
16:36 to: Bruce Neal
We love free!
16:51 to: Catherine Lambert
do you only go as far as K-6?
16:54 to: Peggy George
free is good especially when the quality is as good as Colleen's sites!!
17:02 to: Kim Flack
absolutely!
17:07 to: Peggy George
Math Apprentice is more geared to Middle School
17:12 to: Brian Bailey
yes i did, I need links for each subject area i think to add to my school web page so that i can get stuff up for kids to do, to keep up their practice
17:13 to: Judy
What age? I know it says K-8 but my 8th is Algebra I for high school
17:31 to: Peggy George
see the Algebra on her page?
17:45 to: Kim Caise
some of the games can be used in algebra with upper level students
17:52 to: Peggy George
we'll take you to Math Apprentice too! careers in math
18:08 to: Tim Fahlberg
Do you have a "Donate" button?
18:10 to: mjpratto
Free good
18:15 to: Peggy George
http://www.mathplayground.com/wordproblems.html
18:17 to: Maureen (bcdtech)
Knowing that Colleen taught herself how to program and do all this stuff is an inspiration. She is amazing!
18:23 to: Tracy
Can you give sample of using it to TEACH math rather than the student just exploring
18:39 to: Tim Fahlberg
Wow
18:54 to: gann24
I agree with Tracy :)
18:58 to: Kim Flack
impressive!! math + philanthropy
19:16 to: Kim Caise
i will add that to the list of questions Tracy
19:29 to: Maureen (bcdtech)
Do you have any suggestions for kids who have difficulty with English skills and freak out/fail on word problems?
19:30 to: Brian Bailey
i think this would be good for snow day work at home....... especially since we've only had 2 days of school in the last 3 weeks
19:39 to: Peggy George
good point Brian!
19:46 to: Brian Bailey
and other applications
20:06 to: Peggy George
you can scroll up and down on this page to view it all

23:02 to: Delbusch
This will be in my lessons plans next week and on my links page for my students
23:05 to: judyb64

Is there a way to see what NCTM standards are associated with each apprentice area?
31:50 to: mannixlab
Are all shows archived and if so is there a link that has them all?

33:01 to: Peggy George
kids will really love this roller coaster activity!!
34:04 to: Tim Fahlberg
very cool
34:04 to: Peggy George
I would understand math much better if I had these fantastic tools when I was learning it!!
34:30 to: Tim Fahlberg
yep
34:32 to: Kim Caise
i had fun pretending i was on the different 'roller coasters'!
34:41 to: Peggy George
so many of her activities can be used with older students and higher level math
34:43 to: Tracy
This would be where the teacher should pull out the stuff they do know
34:48 to: Tim Fahlberg
otherwise they'd have no clue what a 4th degree function means
35:03 to: Peggy George
http://www.mathplayground.com/MathApprentice/Doodles.html
36:00 to: Tim Fahlberg
way easier than using a Spirograph
36:02 to: Peggy George
taking doodling to a whole new level :-) what fun!!
36:34 to: Angela
nice!
36:59 to: Brian Bailey
the new spirograph :)
37:05 to: Kim T. AZ

37:09 to: Maureen (bcdtech)
This very cool!
37:26 to: Peggy George
good question Kim T-we'll ask her
37:38 to: Tim Fahlberg
I could see students firing up Jing and making little free videos they could save and later replay
37:53 to: Kim Caise
absolutely Tim!
37:55 to: Peggy George

39:02 to: mjpratto
Amazing amount of programming
39:36 to: Peggy George
aren't you glad she did all of this programming so we don't have to :-) it just works!!
40:17 to: Peggy George
Welcome Paula!!! :-)
40:18 to: Belinda J Susie Davis
students & teachers will love this site. Activities are fun & interactive . and yes I'm glad she did this programming for us. I truly appreciate and will use it.
40:18 to: Tim Fahlberg
I'll bet she did most of this when the rest of us were sleeping or weekends (since she definitely has a day job!)
40:34 to: Peggy George
I'll bet you're right Tim!!
40:36 to: Maureen (bcdtech)
My ninth graders who are beginning to work in Alice would love to know this stuff. They can direct the motion with functions that they build
40:55 to: Tim Fahlberg
or GeoGebra or Scratch
41:10 to: Kim Caise
definitely Maureen! would be a good compliment
41:12 to: Tim Fahlberg
fantastic colleen!

41:39 to: Maureen (bcdtech)
I'm going to show this to them on Monday. Hope they don't ask me about the math piece...
41:48 to: Paula Naugle
Everyone wish all the people of Hawaii a safe day as they brace for the tsunami.
42:06 to: Kim T. AZ
I second that, Paula!
42:10 to: Kim Caise
definitely, my friend messaged me earlier about that
42:15 to: Tim Fahlberg
love this one!
42:15 to: Peggy George
that's the great thing Maureen!! the students will tell you about the math piece :-)
42:15 to: Paula Naugle
See you all next week. The Louisiana LC is heading out to lunch.
42:22 to: Kim Caise
she lives in the evacuation area
42:47 to: Peggy George
this can be applied at so many different ages/levels
42:58 to: Tim Fahlberg
our 6th grade son who struggles with times tables and division would love this as compared to practicing "math facts" the old ways
43:23 to: pat pomeroy
Which game is this?I have to use this!
43:25 to: Peggy George
yes Tim!!! and then he can create a Mathcast to explain how he solved the problems :-)
43:36 to: Tim Fahlberg
bravo Colleen!
43:36 to: Peggy George

44:56 to: Peggy George
whew!!! :-)
44:58 to: Kim Caise
so challenging!
45:12 to: Peggy George
kids will get it faster than I will!! :-)
45:21 to: Kathy S
me too :-)
45:26 to: Peggy George
doing this with partners is such a great idea!!
45:34 to: Peggy George
http://www.mathplayground.com/wangdoodles.html
45:39 to: Belinda J Susie Davis
good idea
45:50 to: Maureen (bcdtech)
who thought up the name?
45:51 to: Kim Caise
with 2 variables
46:30 to: Peggy George
there is a fantastic kid's book called the Last of the Really Great Whangdoodles but I don't think this is where she got the idea
47:15 to: Judy
I'm really impressed and will share with my 4 math teachers (6-8) this week. We find most site too basic, but this really has some challenges.
47:21 to: Tim Fahlberg
fantastic reasoning

49:13 to: Maureen (bcdtech)
I tried this one out before...it was fun, but challenging
49:17 to: Kim Caise
those are so difficult for students to grasp
49:40 to: Judy
I assume you'll post the address of the archive for sharing with others.

53:25 to: Beth
Cool
53:33 to: Peggy George
very clever feedback for students!!
54:52 to: Lawrence Armstrong
Grade level for Thinking Blocks?

I just noticed the little notice that browser prblm was resolved. It must be another whole piece of the setup for this, to make it all compatible with all browsers.

This has been cool! I will share with our staff, too.

1:00:14 to: Alison Stuart
great session
1:00:17 to: Maureen (bcdtech)
For the mathphobic- me... this site is wonderful. It challenges, but does not overwhelm. You can start the kids at their own level and they can be successful and actually get it, instead of memorizing
1:00:17 to: Maureen (bcdtech)
the recipe like I did when I was in school
1:00:20 to: Peggy George
thanks Kim Flack! I'll add it to the gl.am links

you might want to switch to wide layout now to see more of the chat
1:02:46 to: Tammy Moore
May I have mic?
1:02:52 to: Lorna Costantini
I think that Math playground should be a required acitivity for preservice teachers - Math or other wise - the problem solving skills apply
1:02:59 to: Paula Clough
I think more careers would be great. Like that there are careers other than "college bound" caareers...love the bike shop...went and looked at it before the webex.
1:02:59 to: Catherine Lambert
I am not sure about what is available. Adding & subtracting integers in a simple non linguistic way

1:04:24 to: Sheri Edwards (grammasheri)
What is Blackbox???
1:04:26 to: Tim Fahlberg
Black Box was inspired by the work of Godfrey Hounsfield who was awarded the 1979 Nobel Prize in Medicine for his invention of the CAT scanner.
1:04:52 to: Sheri Edwards (grammasheri)
Is it a website?
1:04:54 to: Peggy George
teachers can always figure out the standards alignment :-)
1:04:55 to: Tracy
not for testing more for planning purposes
1:04:59 to: Sheri Edwards (grammasheri)
oh there it is

we'll add the blackbox link to the gl.am links
1:05:31 to: Tammy Moore
Opss, sorry if my mic migh have been quiet. I forgot I was on table mic not headset.
1:05:44 to: Tim Fahlberg
if we had national standards it would be easier to align activities, etc
1:05:56 to: Peggy George
things that work on all browser platforms
1:06:07 to: gann24
agree with peggy
1:06:11 to: Tim Fahlberg
the games will be used by one student, many or a single teacher
1:06:12 to: judyb64
Can set your own parameters
1:06:13 to: Judy
Please post Colleen's e-mail
1:06:14 to: Sheri Edwards (grammasheri)

1:07:03 to: Tim Fahlberg
what fantastic news
1:07:05 to: mjpratto
Apple and flash are having some troubles, hope will be resolved
1:07:08 to: Lorna Costantini
that is wonderful news
1:07:11 to: gann24
that would be incredible!
1:07:11 to: Peggy George
this would be incredible to have in itouch!!
1:07:12 to: Sheri Edwards (grammasheri)
Flash doesn't work on ipod touch or ipad
1:07:13 to: Aimee
itunes!!! That's great!
1:07:14 to: Bruce Neal
that would be great!
1:07:16 to: Catherine Laguna
I have to go too, Thanks Colleen!
1:07:20 to: Delbusch
students will love it when they are aps
1:07:21 to: pat pomeroy
Can you allow the site to record kids results? My kids use spellingcity and it records what games and tests they take from home so I can see how they are doing
1:07:25 to: mjpratto
Yes, good
1:07:27 to: Tim Fahlberg
Would you consider putting some of your math videos on YouTube with translatable captions?
1:07:27 to: gann24
still free when on itunes?
1:07:56 to: Sheri Edwards (grammasheri)
thanks for clarifying about the itouch -- flash is created on the itouch?
1:07:57 to: roxanne clement
Can we print assignment responses?
1:08:10 to: Tim Fahlberg
can a teacher keep track of student use of activities in a lab or at home?
1:08:11 to: Peggy George
itunes apps are so cheap!!!
1:08:18 to: Tammy Moore
Colleen - You have a dream job :) I would love to know some of your favorite resources for learning/using Flash
1:08:20 to: Kim Flack
thanks so much Colleen & Team Classroom 2.0! another fantastic morning!
1:08:21 to: gann24
:)
1:08:25 to: Peggy George
the developers deserve to be paid!!!
1:08:33 to: Belinda J Susie Davis
I agree
1:08:38 to: mrdelacruz
is i possible to download the flash applications?
1:08:39 to: Allen
Is there anything more than YouTube for video? Responding to Tim on this - such as TeacherTube?
1:08:49 to: Connie Sitterley
Any chance that assignments can be tracked per student?
1:09:07 to: debbie y
my 4-year-old is playing with one of the games right now
1:09:08 to: Tim Fahlberg
Is there anything else we can do (besides spreading the word about MathPlayground) that would be helpful to you?
1:09:15 to: Belinda J Susie Davis
or save to their folder?
1:09:17 to: roxanne clement
I think we were thinging to see that students spent time there.
1:09:21 to: Catherine Lambert
I meant more the retention of the learning to another dimension
1:09:41 to: Tim Fahlberg
There's screencast.com (free 2 GB accounts with free 2 GB of bandwidth)
1:09:53 to: achappel
Can't wait to try this out. Unbelievable that this site is FREE!
1:09:54 to: Peggy George
videos with captions in different languages such as dotsub would be fantastic!
1:09:57 to: Luiz Marcelo
do it in many languages
1:09:58 to: pat pomeroy
Please run this weninar again!
1:10:08 to: Tammy Moore
You can create a SCORM componetnt and it can talk to a site database like you could have in Moodle, then teachers can get the scores of stuents to a grade book. :)
1:10:29 to: Belinda J Susie Davis
Thanks Tammy
1:10:31 to: Paula Clough
If deveolopers could make a way for students to report their progress to their teachers... a page they save, an email or some record.
1:10:34 to: kathy
Can they play a game and return to where they left off?
1:10:34 to: mjpratto
Right Tammy!
1:10:43 to: Peggy George
can't wait to spread the word!!! now we will have a recording of Colleen to help us share with people!!
1:11:04 to: Tim Fahlberg
Sure and we hope that every day/week that you're getting very positive feedback.
1:11:07 to: Delbusch
Yes we want more of this!!! another session
1:11:19 to: Belinda J Susie Davis
yes
1:11:26 to: kathy
great, thanks!
1:11:33 to: Paula Clough
SCORM idea is great... we have Moodle and could track students.
1:11:48 to: Peggy George
Tim would you like to take the mic to share some of the things you do when creating mathcasts?
1:12:01 to: classroom 2.0
This was great. Thank you!
1:12:05 to: Tammy Moore
Flash has built in SCORM tools in the CS4 level and I bet will be in the next release
1:12:11 to: roxanne clement
I would rather see that collaboration had a pay off
1:12:16 to: Peggy George
interesting question!!!!
1:12:20 to: Lorna Costantini
I agree team work
1:12:20 to: Sheri Edwards (grammasheri)
Winning can be defined as the team that most collaborates to solve the problem
1:12:23 to: Tim Fahlberg
I like how you give people little certificates in that one activity
1:12:25 to: roxanne clement
me either
1:12:25 to: Peggy George
partner scores??
1:12:28 to: Tim Fahlberg
the detective one
1:12:43 to: Tracy
earning points to buy stuff or being able to change what character is playing
1:12:44 to: Tim Fahlberg
Yep
1:12:45 to: Catherine Lambert
or that you succeeded in solving
1:12:53 to: mjpratto
In careers, you get a promotion
1:12:59 to: Jane St Pierre
I sometimes had a student throw a more or less die at the end to determine whether the greater number or the lesser number was the winner.
1:13:00 to: Peggy George
a math problem solver badge on their class blog??
1:13:00 to: judyb64
Yes, the joy of learning and getting is right
1:13:03 to: roxanne clement
intrinsic motivation should be, but they are so focussed on winning
1:13:17 to: Tracy
I think it is enough but because they're conditioned to win something they tend to look for that
1:13:23 to: Kim
Thanks so much for a good session.
1:13:24 to: Peggy George
I really agree with Colleen's points!!
1:13:26 to: kathy
I don't like games that have the students do computation which leads to fun because they only want to practice the easy facts so they can get to the fun.
1:13:26 to: Allen
Right on Tim - a cert is one way. Collaboration credit is nice. Can the reward be an email sent back to them congratulatiing them - that's the win - recognized for it.
1:13:28 to: Alison Stuart
I think that's a good idea
1:13:44 to: Jane St Pierre
Being able to build something is motivating!!!
1:13:45 to: pat pomeroy
Marzano says rewarding hard work is the most effective tool for learning. To be sure to say something about their hard work in a dancing song, or mentioning their hard work is important
1:13:45 to: Tammy Moore
For Moodlers - When I have my students doing internet activities, they can upload a creenshot of the score page or final built object they can get the credit for the activitiy even when the activity w
1:13:45 to: Tammy Moore
as outside of our Moodle site.
1:13:48 to: Peggy George
when students are actively engaged they are highly motivated!!
1:13:57 to: Tim Fahlberg
We need to give them a place where they can collect and show their successes and creations
1:13:59 to: debbie y
points can be rewarded for "most visually appealing" or best collaborator etc.
1:14:00 to: Peggy George
that's a great idea Tammy!
1:14:21 to: Tim Fahlberg
Indeed!
1:14:27 to: Belinda J Susie Davis
Can they move to a higher level-just like many games they play.
1:14:33 to: mjpratto
Kids move so fast through online activities...they don't seem to dwell on the win that much,,they move on
1:14:35 to: roxanne clement
we are getting certificates of participation... competion rather than winning
1:14:36 to: Allen
Right - they would need parent permission to do so. I'm the somebody on this - that's the congrat or reward.
1:14:37 to: pat pomeroy
email nice idea!
1:14:46 to: Paula Clough
The email could go to the student's teacher instead of the student.
1:14:48 to: Peggy George
certificates are very popular :-)
1:14:48 to: judyb64
our students don't have email
1:15:01 to: Alison Stuart
thanks for the session
1:15:13 to: Lois
We use a game where students customise a 'car' (choose colours, spoilers etc) as a reward for getting questions correct - they really like this.
1:15:22 to: roxanne clement
that would be a way to show a teacher they completed a project online too
1:15:22 to: Tammy Moore
My kids tape their certificates from games on their walls right by their beds - you should see all the tape marks on their walls from years of doing that
1:15:29 to: pat pomeroy
Read naturally has a band play when kids pass that my kids always wait for
1:15:34 to: ihor Charischak
winning can be thought as accomplishing a goal. It doesnt have to be competitive.
1:15:45 to: Deborah Underwood
WV provides student email accounts upon request
1:15:56 to: Sheila T.
This has been an excellent session. I will begin sharing it right away! Keep up the excellent work. Sorry I need to sign out.
1:15:58 to: Tim Fahlberg
That's terrific (in WV)
1:16:02 to: Lois
Yes - thats' right.
1:16:05 to: Sheri Edwards (grammasheri)
Kids like the challenge of figuring out the level; my grandson keeps track of every data point in his games, not to get more-- but to succeed at that level -- solving something or creating something;
1:16:05 to: Sheri Edwards (grammasheri)
the points just let them know where they are.
1:16:07 to: Peggy George
thanks for joining us!!!
1:16:09 to: Luiz Marcelo
great ihor
1:16:18 to: Tracy
What if they received a function that they could collect to draw something
1:16:22 to: Delbusch
bye
1:16:25 to: Peggy George
Tim want to take the mic??? :-)
1:16:38 to: judyb64
don't want to have to register students
1:16:38 to: Judy
Thanks -- have to leave
1:16:49 to: roxanne clement
alwyas assessment...kills the joy
1:17:04 to: Allen
Yes, they would have to register either through home (parents) or school.
1:17:06 to: Peggy George
it's great that you don't have to log in to use the site!!
1:17:09 to: Aimee
I agree . . . too many things to register for now
1:17:09 to: Catherine Lambert
My sound is all scrambled!
1:17:35 to: pat pomeroy
Yes please don't change. This is amazing
1:17:37 to: Peggy George
@Catherine--if bandwidth lags the sound gets weird but usually catches up
1:17:49 to: achappel
how do you register through a school site?
1:17:49 to: Sheri Edwards (grammasheri)
What about classroom teachers log in and enter (or students self-enter) student names/password, like VoiceThread or Edmodo or Tween Tribune?
1:18:01 to: Peggy George
I see the bandwidth red box by your name Catherine :-)
1:18:03 to: Tim Fahlberg
I think we need to find ways to get parents finding and encouraging their kids to use these activities
1:18:05 to: Beth
This is great! It is my first time and I will surely be back for more! Thank-you, Bye
1:18:05 to: mjpratto
What do you use to design?
1:18:21 to: Peggy George
yes Tim!!! we have to share these tools with parents!!
1:18:32 to: Allen
Feedback is the reward - either as a partipant award or higher up - gold, silver bronze - keeping with Math Olympic spirit.
1:18:40 to: Peggy George
we will share it with the Digital Parent resources we are compiling for parent workshops!
1:18:55 to: Luiz Marcelo
What about other languages?
1:19:19 to: Peggy George
yes other languages??
1:19:32 to: pat pomeroy
I havent seen an answer yet, is there going to be a repeat or another webinar? I want to have my colleagues (sp) watch
1:19:36 to: Tammy Moore
Colleen, is there a contact link at the site to get in touch with you?
1:19:41 to: Peggy George
videos uploaded to dotsub would offer other languages--just have to create the scripts
1:19:53 to: Tammy Moore
THanks:)
1:20:00 to: Peggy George
@pat pomeroy--they could watch the recording for today :-)
1:20:06 to: Colleen King
@colleenk
1:20:53 to: Peggy George
fabulous that you can track usage including people from other countries!!!
1:20:56 to: Luiz Marcelo
Here in Brazil we are testing to prepare math lessons integrated with english lessons with both teachers at the same time
1:21:20 to: Peggy George
Kim is having an audio problem and not hearing the audio right now
1:21:25 to: Tammy Moore
Shows you are humble that you don't watch the analytics too closely. hehe
1:21:37 to: Peggy George
:-)
1:22:00 to: Sheri Edwards (grammasheri)
Gotta go -- thanks to all -- will now share with my colleagus around me in class
1:22:03 to: Tim Fahlberg
A much needed rest?!
1:22:06 to: Pam Fox
THanks, great session! I will be sending this link today to my staff! Can't wait to use it in my co-teach.
1:22:08 to: Deborah Underwood
Got to go. Great section. :)
1:22:17 to: Rod Murray
25% users from outside USA? Hence my earler question about the site having serttings to change to metric unit. Are there settings to change to metric?
1:22:33 to: Kim Caise
almost there
1:22:53 to: roxanne clement
Each of your components would be stand alone apps....wow
1:22:55 to: Sheri Edwards (grammasheri)
Did you say you are creating iPhone apps?
1:23:00 to: Peggy George
I don't know how Colleen finds the time to create all of these fabulous things and teach full time too!!
1:23:07 to: Allen
It seems as though Apps are the way to go - there you go.
1:23:12 to: pat pomeroy
Sorry, I'm new at all of this. Can I just go back to the same place I found this webinar and watch it again?
1:23:17 to: Peggy George
yes iphone apps!!! I would definitely pay for them!!
1:23:25 to: Peggy George
http://live.classroom20.com/archive-and-resources.html
1:23:36 to: Peggy George
recording and links will be there once we close the session
1:23:47 to: Lorna Costantini
we will have the video uo later this afternoon
1:23:51 to: Lorna Costantini
*up
1:23:52 to: mjpratto
It will happen
1:23:59 to: Sheri Edwards (grammasheri)
Hope it happens.
1:24:00 to: Peggy George
that will be so exciting!!
1:24:05 to: Sheri Edwards (grammasheri)
thanks so much bye
1:24:14 to: Peggy George
yeah!! Tim is talking about mathcasts! they are so powerful!
1:24:47 to: Peggy George
we could definitely get some volunteers to help with the transcripts!! I'd be happy to help!
1:24:53 to: mjpratto
90 percent in Arizona are blocked
1:24:56 to: Lorna Costantini
some boards allow Blip tv
1:25:12 to: Peggy George
yeah Tim!! Smartpen for Colleen!!
1:25:25 to: pat pomeroy
Thanks for everything
1:25:30 to: Lorna Costantini
I love collaboration!!
1:25:35 to: Peggy George
great suggestion Tim!!!!!!
1:25:59 to: Tammy Moore
lol
1:26:04 to: Peggy George
too many half-time jobs :-)
1:26:09 to: Lorna Costantini
